About Us

We offer professional Thai Massage for health and therapeutic purposes. We chose the word “Well-being” to be our center’s name because of its important meaning. Well-being is the state of being healthy and happy. In Arabic, there are two different translations to “Well-being”. This is because the Arabic language is deeper and more sophisticated than English. The literal translation is رفاه. And the conceptual translation is العافية. Both translations have been used to express Well-being. To be more specific though, the first term specifically expresses the feeling we get when achieving well-being. The second refers to the state of Well-being itself.

Achieving Well-being requires us to maintain balance and harmony between our physical, mental, spiritual and social aspects of our lives. Thai massage helps us in achieving such balance by improving our physical, mental and spiritual aspects, which eventually can also improve our social lives.

Why is Thai massage very important today? In the 21st century, life has gotten so busy with constant communication, competition, and simply being on the go that it is easy for people to forget to breath, relax and just enjoy the moment. As a consequence, we lose balance and harmony, and our health and well-being suffers. Each of our practitioners are inspired healers who are highly skilled and passionate about cultivating health and well-being for our clients. We focus on healing with compassion, good will and heart, with the aim of bringing you balance and harmony.

History of Thai Massage

Practiced in Thailand for over 2,500 years, Thai massage has been influenced by the traditional medicine systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia, and is considered an ancient healing system with its roots in Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and the Buddhist spiritual practice. Incorporated into the healing therapy is also the practice of mindfulness, awareness, loving kindness, and compassion.

Credit for Thai massage is given to an Indian doctor, Jiwaka Komaraphat, who was the personal physician to the Buddha. Like the healing principles utilized in other eastern therapies, the Thai Massage system focuses on vital energy circulation within the body.

It is believed the body consists of 72,000 pathways called Sen (energy lines), of which ten hold top priority. When these energy lines are stimulated with pressure points, blockages are broken down to increase energy flow and restore balance and harmony to the body.

Regulated by the Thailand Government, Thai massage is one of the branches of Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) in present day, and is considered to be a medical discipline used for the treatment of a wide variety of ailments.
